Merino wool fibers are very thin and delicate, despite their high density, thanks to which they perfectly protect from too low temperatures, while not causing overheating in hot weather. Merino wool blankets are an excellent choice for children, and with proper care, blankets will last for many years.

How to wash merino wool?
Merino blankets require easy, but special care (different from bamboo blankets ).
Merino wool has a natural protective outer layer that prevents stains from being absorbed. It also attracts less dust and lint because it does not generate static electricity. So its frequent washing is definitely unnecessary. Wool cleans itself, it is only necessary to ventilate it.
If you want to wash it, however, it should be done accordingly. Merino wool is a very sensitive yarn and it is absolutely necessary to wash it as recommended, otherwise it will undergo an undesirable felting process - the blanket will become rough, hard and will significantly decrease.

We recommend hand washing, it is also possible to wash in a washing machine, but only on an efficient program designed for washing wool with turned off or reduced spinning to 200 revolutions. Merino wool blankets should not be washed on any other programs, even delicate ones. Hot water should be avoided when washing as the blanket may shrink.
A mild wool detergent, without bleach or fabric softener, will be suitable for washing. Bleach destroys the merino wool fibers and a fabric softener coats these fibers, thereby reducing their ability to naturally wick away moisture and regulate body temperature. If you are using powdered wool detergent, you can dissolve it in a little water first to prevent large spots from settling on the blanket, which can stick together and cause discoloration.

Hand wash (recommended) step by step:
1. Prepare a bowl that is large enough to prevent the blanket from creasing.
2. Fill a bowl with warm, not hot water and add liquid or powder to the wool, according to the instructions on the package.
3. Soak the blanket in water and leave it for a few to several minutes. Constantly check that there is nothing wrong with him. Turn from time to time, while taking care not to stretch or wring.
4. Drain the blanket from the liquid and rinse it in clean water so that no detergent residue is left on it.
5. Gently knead the blanket to drain it again, then dry the wool.
Our blankets are machine washable, however only on the dedicated program "wool ". However, this is not the form of washing recommended by us, because we cannot check whether the programmed wool washing in your washing machine is adapted to the requirements of merino wool, so we are not responsible for its negative effects.

Machine wash step by step:
1. Wash wool separately, do not wash it with other fabrics. The exceptions are towels and pillowcases (they will protect the blankets against damage). It is worth putting the blanket completely in a washing net or pillowcase.
2. Set your washing machine to the wool wash program. According to the instructions on the package - add a mild wool detergent.
3. Do not spin the wool, as you expose it to stretching and damage.
4. After finishing the washing mode, start the drying process immediately. Merino wool should not be soaked for too long.
When washing, merino wool yarns may release excess natural dye. This is perfectly normal and you don't need to worry. After drying the blanket , no loss of color will be noticeable.

How to dry merino wool?
We recommend air drying to extend product life. Merino wool should be dried flat as hanging wet wool may distort (wet wool may become heavier, which may stretch and lose shape when hanging). It should also not be tumble dried - it exposes the blanket to damage to the yarn, as well as to a direct heat source, e.g. a radiator, heated floor. Merino wool must also not be dried in direct sunlight.
Step-by-step drying of wool:
1. Place the blanket in between the towel and gently shake off any excess water. Don't squeeze it.
2. Place the blanket on a dry and flat surface away from direct heat. It is best to spread it between the fabric. And voilà, you will enjoy a dry blanket soon!
Can merino wool be ironed?
Merino wool does not require ironing and should not be ironed. Direct contact with too high a temperature can permanently damage the wool fibers.
Please follow the instructions above, otherwise the blanket may be irreparably damaged. The blankets are washed post-production, which means that their shape, structure and size will be maintained - with proper care.
The wool producer is certified by woolmark, which proves the highest quality of wool.
