It is scientifically proven that everyone can sleep under merino wool all year round. Many years of multiple research on merino wool confirm that sleep under it is calmer, deeper and more effective.
The University of Sydney and Wolmark have tested products made of various materials - both merino wool and non-wool materials with regard to temperatures and moistness. The results showed that merino wool ensure the most valuable REM sleep phase and provide the perfect, restful sleep for the longest time of all materials. The latest research also shows that in high temperature (at 29 degrees Celsius) merino wool helps fall asleep the fastest. Sleep is the longest, most effectively and waking up in the middle of the night are the least often. Merino wool outclassed cotton and synthetics.

Why is it so special?
The wool that we use for production comes from sheep living in New Zealand with the best quality fleece. Merinoes from New Zealand mountainous live in changing weather conditions - 30 degrees cold in winter, 30 degrees heat in summer. Nature has prepared them perfectly by giving them wool adjusted for extreme weather. Merino wool is very dense, while the fibers are incredibly thin. It is several times thinner than the fibers of sheep living in lowlands and thinner than human hair. The thinner the fiber, the more valuable is. How does it work? First of all, the more small fibers, the more air spaces between them, and this is why wool is thermoregulated. Secondly, the thinner the fiber, the softer it is on the skin. That is why merino wool doesn’t bite and is so soft and nice.

Among the many advantages of merino wool, the most important is thermoregulation. This is especially important for young children who haven’t this ability yet. Their body heats up faster and cools down quickly. Merino wool has thermoregulatory properties, which means that when it’s cold it warms up, but when is warm- it doesn’t allow the body to overheat. Merino wool perfectly wicks away moisture (also sweat). The water on the merino wool evaporates (on artificial materials it condense).
Another important and valued feature of merino wool is antibacterial properties. This is why this wool is used in baby products. Bacteria don’t have conditions to multiply on merino wool fibers. Thanks to this, the wool doesn’t absorb smells and it can be washed even once a year (if there is no visible dirt on it). Merino wool should only be aired- it cleans itself in contact with oxygen.

Another advantage of merino is protection against UV radiation. This is why it’s perfect for using all year round. As a natural fiber it absorbs UV radiation, providing sun protection. It is an excellent choice for fresh air walks.
Merino wool is naturally elastic. Under a microscope, a merino fiber is like a spring that returns to its natural shape when bent. This allows merino wool products keep their shape.
As a natural fiber - it is biodegradable (it will decompose naturally in the soil within a few years).

When we lead merino wool to our offer, we knew that it would be appreciated by parents and loved by children, and it really happened.
Parents appreciate that child doesn’t freeze under merino blankets but also doesn’t sweat. We’ve made the merino blanket with a braid that works and breathes at the same time (you can breathe with head under the blanket). We know from parents reports how important it is, especially in the first days and weeks of their babies lives. Parents find out that their children sleep longer and more peacefully under merino wool. Children in other hand loved it for its softness.
Merino blankets are product that will stay in our offer for a long time and maybe even forever.

With its many advantages, merino wool doesn’t require any special care. It is enough for it to be washed rarely, using the wool program or by hand with wool detergents. Washing on other programs, even delicate ones - can destroy it! The washing machine on the wool program performs drum movements different than in the other programs and the revolutions are much lower (recommended spinning 200 or without spinning). If you wash the blanket on a program other than the wool program, even with the delicate one, the wool will break down - it is a natural and irreversible process.
